About me:

At Pasja Smaku in Warsaw, 2013. Patron saint of the Garden of Eden of butchers stands holding – not a coin, but a slab of (kosher) meat. That is not an apron he is wearing but a tales-kutn (little talit, with its fringes at four corners), beard and peyes, careful attention to detail on the part of the carver. This is a charged icon in this time of shehita ban in Poland, bringing good fortune to a Polish butcher, and hopefully to kosher slaughter too. Another good luck Jew – not holding a coin, but standing by the tip box.
